Welcome to Spring Gardening: Top-2o Quick-Growing Spring Vegetables, a D.I.Y. gardening book for those of us who want some freshly grown organic food but don't want to wait another year before we can stick a fork in it. In this book, we'll go over several different types of vegetables that can be planted just before spring or during spring to achieve a harvest during that same spring. This is very useful for those of us that don't have a lot of time to invest.
In the first chapter, we'll cover the common vegetables that can be grown during the springtime that almost everyone loves. The plants in this section include:
- Arugula, a less common lettuce that works great in adding to the taste of salads.
- Kale, a superfood that tends to cost a bit of money at the store but is great for vitamins like K and C.
- Cabbage, a common lettuce that you will see in the grocery store that goes great with nearly all types of salads.
The next few chapters will go over the more unique and exclusive vegetables that not everyone likes. In all of the chapters, we will try to tell you the type of soil you need, the amount of space each plant needs, and how to generally plant the seed and take care of the plants. Even though we suggest you find a germination chart, we also try to provide a good temperature to grow the plants in for optimal growth.
In these remaining chapters, we will go over such plants as:
- Brussel sprouts
- Baby carrots
These are not all the plants contained within the book. Most of the plants can be as simple as poking your finger into the ground, planting the seed, and keeping the plant regularly water until it's time to pick it. These plants are great for any home garden.
